Joshua E. Siegel
Lab director
Joshua Siegel is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University, with a courtesy appointment in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
He is a mechanical engineer and computer scientist whose work spans sensing, artificial intelligence, connected vehicles, robotics, and the transition from research to use. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and is an MIT Research Affiliate.

Works on audio diagnostics, audio quality modeling, and uncertainty-aware prediction.
Tashfain Ahmed
Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Engineering, 2023–present
Works on acoustic diagnostics, minimum viable data, and models that remain useful across devices. He has an upcoming internship with MERL.
Mohammadali Saffary

Works on automated driving, intelligent systems, and the sensing and models that connect them.
Karthik Karur

Works on automotive embedded systems and enhanced braking. He continues this research while working at BorgWarner.
